Malaysia showcases diverse range of products at expo

The second Malaysian Product Expo received a huge response from members of the public after its launching yesterday by the Malaysian High Commissioner Dato’ Ku Jaafar Ku Shaari.Three strikes of the gong signalled the official opening of the exposition, featuring 62 companies in 74 booths at two separate sections at the Indoor Stadium, offering various products on health and beauty, clothes as well as accessories, to name a few.
Among the interesting booths to visit is the Ainun Therapy booth, which showcases a toner spray for the eyes, nose, ears and mouth that is formulated from deep-sea pearl extracts, herbs, corals and oxygenated water. This toner, among others, helps to clear dusty eyes, re-treat cataract, reduce low vision and re-treat acute Glaucoma. Other uses include reducing sinus symptoms or stuffy nose, reduce itchiness on the ears, relieve allergies and mouth ulcers as well as toothache symptoms.
The toner is available in two sizes and can be used along with an eye massager that is also available for sale at the expo. Free testing of the products is available at the booth (8B/9B). For the next two days, PRI Multitrade Resources from Terengganu, the company that sells the Ainun Therapy products, will be having a promotion on the toner and the eye massager.
According to Sufi Haraki, Manager of PRI Multitrade resources, the toner is made through Islamic Medicine methods where Quranic verses and prayers were read to bless the toner.
“The toner has been proven effective to help cure problems in the eyes, ears, nose and mouth based on feedback from our customers,” Sufi Haraki said.
“This is our first time in Brunei and the response has been very positive,” he added.
Another booth to visit would be the BruSalam Café booth, which sells white coffee with Goji Guarana and is a local product of Brunei although manufactured in Malaysia. Latifah Hj Abd Talip, owner of BruSalam Café goods, said that the coffee is a new product launched at the expo.
Mariwasa Kraftangan Sdn Bhd is also another must-visit booth which showcases custom-made souvenirs, boxes, porcelain ware and even covers for ‘Gangsa’ that is available for order for special occasions including weddings.
Ramellia Falyza Ramly, sales and marketing manager of Mariwasa Kraftangan, said that the items are unique and can be custom-made based on customers’ requirements.
“Our souvenirs and boxes are made from wood and finely engraved pewter. The goods are very popular especially for wedding occasions such as the ‘hantaran’ items, which can be specially ordered. We can have them ready for collection within one to two weeks depending on the intricacy of the engravings,” Ramellia said.
The company also has a distributor in Brunei namely Brufors Technical Services in Jerudong that can cater to orders from local customers.
There is an abundance of herbal and treatment products from Sarawak and Peninsula Malaysia. One such booth is the Pusat Andaman dan Kecantikan Zurainas booth that specialises in herbal soaps for all skin types. These soaps and other cosmetic products are made in Sarawak and can only be found at this booth.
Hadijah Mohd Bujang, owner of the Zurainas Beauty Salon, said that although this is their first time he is participating in a Brunei expo, they have received an overwhelming response and are planning to come back to participate in other expos to showcase their products.
The Malaysian Product Expo will conclude on May 9 and is open from 10am to 10pm.
